One Month Until "Stay Sharp 2014"

"Stay Sharp" is the 24 hour theology conference for the Allegheny District pastors and church leaders. This year's event will be February 6&7 at Waterdam Church in Canonsburg, PA.

Each year we bring in Greg Strand from the EFCA national office to teach us. It's my joy to coordinate this event.

This year's topic is the return of Christ. In my invitation letter, I said:
This doctrine is often ignored or minimized in the church today, and yet we believe that when properly understood, it is a truth that "motivates the believer to godly living, sacrificial service and energetic mission" (EFCA Statement of Faith, #9).
What pastor doesn't want his flock to be motivated to live godly lives, serve sacrificially, and be energized for our mission?!  Clearly, this is a doctrine that we need to revisit and get right.
This is also a controversial doctrine within evangelicalism. Often, when we aren't ignoring it, we're fighting over it.  We've asked Greg to unpack some of the history of this doctrine within the EFCA, explain various views which are acceptable within the EFCA, and define what we mean (and don't mean) by the word "premillennial."  You won't want to miss it.
For more information, download the brochure online. If you are able to come, we'd love to see you there.

By the way, the deadline for the special hotel rate has been extended to January 13th. There's still time to get a room at a great price!
