* These are books I finished reading in 2014, not the ones I started or the ones I didn't get done. I read a bunch of them for fun, some for homeschooling, and a lot of them just to learn and grow. This year, I lost track a couple of times and had to reassemble them, so the order may be off.

As I say each year--I'm not endorsing these books just because they are listed here. Some of them are really good and some are really bad. Most are somewhere in between. Read with discernment.

[Here's the post where I explain why I post these.]

Previous Years:

Do you realize this year you've put 24 of the 103 works in the Maigret series under your belt? Do you have a favorite? I've never been able to pick one. Thank you for sharing your list.
David

David,

This was definitely "The Year of Maigret" for me.

Sadly, I had never heard of the great French detective until this year, but wife introduced us, and he's been a helpful escapist companion all year.

I don't think I have a favorite, except to say "whichever one I'm reading right now."

I see that you've got a special connection with Maigret. I'll have to check out your doctor book!
