What Women Want

Sorry, guys, but I don't have it all figured out. Women are mysterious--praise the Lord!

But C.O. Bigelow Apothecaries might have a bead on it:

Honest - Genuine - Trustworthy

Question: Where do you think I've seen these words the most in the last 6 months?

Answer: At the top of a shampoo bottle.

Lemon Mentha Body Vitamin Body Wash from C.O. Bigelow Apothecaries has that motto emblazoned across the most readable spot on their 8 fl.oz. shampoo container.

Every time I get in the shower and see my wife's hair stuff, I think, "Honest - Genuine - Trustworthy? That's what you want to describe your shampoo?

What happened to "New Formula - Now Improved - Great Hair?"

The more I've thought about it, however, the more sense it made. This is what women want in a man. And so many have to settle for so much less.

C.O. Bigelow Apothecaries have tapped into a deep desire in the hearts of women--a good desire--for a man who will be honest with them, genuine--not fake (many men are one thing to get a woman and another thing once they've got them), and trustworthy--someone in which she can reliably put her confidence.

I don't know if a shampoo can be those things. But I want to be that kind of a man for Heather.

I think that Paul wants church leaders to be those kind of men, as well:
Here is a trustworthy saying: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task. Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?) He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil's trap.

1 Timothy 3:1-7
And, while I will fail Heather to be a fully-shampoo-motto-kind-of-man, there is a Man who is perfectly honest, fully genuine, and completely trustworthy.

A Man whom Heather and all women can love with all their hearts and never be disappointed.
